My name is Benveet Gill but you can call me Bean! I'm a keynote speaker, advocate, model and all around bad ass woman!

My Story

If it wasn’t for the worst year of my life (2012), I wouldn’t be who I am today. My sudden onset paralysis opened my eyes to the many injustices, inequalities and challenges that are a part of life for those of us with disabilities. I went from dealing with a new identity of life in a wheelchair to using my situation as a platform to help others.

I co-founded ReYu Paralysis Recovery Centre, a non profit organization that uses Activity Based Training to reconnect the brain to the body, retrain the nervous system and redefine what is possible.

My disability and ReYu have brought many rewards into my life including the opportunity to be a keynote speaker on stages of all sizes and audiences of all types. Scroll down to the bottom to check out my speaking reel.

I have also accomplished a huge goal of mine, to have my own tv show! PUSH is a docuseries about my friends and I…The Wheelie Peeps! Check out the trailer below then head to CBC GEM to stream it in Canada.

PUSH takes audiences into the inner world of the “Wheelie Peeps,” an unlikely group of friends and wheelchair users, bonded by their shared experience of navigating life on wheels.
